Laser Toner Tips

Make sure you follow a few tips on how to replace a toner cartridge. Buy a replacement for destroyed or old toner cartridge. A toner cartridge in your printer must have several identifying information including the part number which you could use to distinguish the type you need. As it starts to run low, several printers will launch a message to your computer which includes the part number for a replacement.

You can donate your old toner cartridge to an office supply store. Several office supply stores will give you a store coupon for every toner cartridge that you donate. Think of it as helping your environment.

Remove the destroyed toner cartridge. You may need to snap the toner out of position. Follow the instructions given to your printer if you have a hard time removing the destroyed one. Wear old cloth when replacing toner cartridges as the spills might stain your shirt.

Get the new toner cartridge out of the cover. Rock it back and forth several times. Remove the protective cover and snap the new toner into position.

Close your printer cover if you installed the cartridge correctly.

Your printer may need to be aligned after replacing the toner cartridge. Follow the instructions given by your printer for this type of task.

A Little Bit About Laser Toner Cartridges

September 22nd, 2010 Comments off

Toner is a powder used in laser printers and photocopiers to form the printed text and images on the paper. In its early form it was simply carbon powder. Then, to improve the quality of the printout, the carbon was melt-mixed with a polymer. Toner particles are melted by the heat of the fuser, and bind to the paper.

In earlier machines, toner was poured by the user from a bottle into a reservoir in the machine. Modern machines feed directly from a cartridge. Empty cartridges are sometimes refilled by third party vendors. Modern toners intended for use in color copiers and printers come in Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow.

The specific polymer used varies by manufacturer but can be a styrene acryl ate copolymer, a polyester resin, a styrene butadiene copolymer, or a few other special polymers. Toner formulations vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and even from machine to machine. Typically formulation, granule size and melting point vary the most.

Toner can be washed off skin and garments with cold water. Hot or warm water softens the toner, causing it to bond in place. Toner fused to skin eventually wears off, or can be partially removed using an abrasive hand cleaner. Toner fused to clothing usually cannot be removed.

Toner particles have electrostatic properties by design and can develop static-electric charges when they rub against other particles, objects, or the interiors of transport systems and vacuum hoses. Because of this and the small particle size, toner should not be vacuumed with a conventional home vacuum cleaner. Static discharge from charged toner particles can ignite dust in the vacuum cleaner bag or create a small explosion if sufficient toner is airborne. This may damage the vacuum cleaner or start a fire. Toner particles are so fine that they are poorly filtered by household vacuum cleaner filter bags and can blow through the vacuum motor or into the room.

A handy tip with laser toner is to not replace your laser toner cartridge at the first sign of streaks on your paper. Many people think they should immediately replace their laser toner cartridge when they see a light streak on their paper. Take it out of your printer and gently shake it several times. Your laser toner cartridge usually has 10% of its toner still intact. By gently shaking it, you can get additional pages of quality print. Repeat this process until you can no longer print, then replace the toner cartridge. We carry refurbished laser cartridges, laser toner recharge kits and bottles of laser toner for most laser printers, copiers and faxes. We can also supply you with genuine brand replacement print cartridges and brand name printer consumables. If there is anything you do not see in our store, do not hesitate to call and inquire. For more information on methods for laser print cartridge recharging.

If toner spills into the laser printer, a special type of vacuum cleaner with an electrically conductive hose and a high efficiency (HEPA) filter may be needed for effective cleaning. These are called Electrostatic discharge-safe (ESD-safe) or toner vacuums. Similar HEPA-filter equipped vacuums should be used for clean-up of larger toner spills.

The toners that we stock are special dedicated laser toner for use in the laser print cartridges to which they are compatible. During the laser toner refilling process, careful attention is paid to the magnetic characteristics and chemical make-up of the laser toner meant for use in your laser toner printer. The remanufactured toner cartridges that we offer are remanufactured by disassembling the toner cartridge, cleaning and replacing the parts that are worn out.

A new addition to laser print cartridge technology has been to use computer chips in the functioning of the laser print cartridge. Most new laser print cartridges contain these chips, the chips must be replaced in all new laser print cartridges for the laser print cartridge to print when returned to the laser toner printer.

Different toners have different densities. The amount of toner that we include in a bottle is in accordance with how much of our formulation of toner you would need to refill the cartridge and get a full page yield out of it. The density of the toner also affects how much toner will need to be picked up by the PCR during the printing cycle; if your toner is finer, you will tend to need less of it weight-wise to obtain an even coverage over the printed area.

Avoid getting gouged with OEM laser toner, although printer manufacturers would lead you to believe that brand name laser toner is the only toner that works in their printers, the truth is that high quality remanufactured laser toners work just as well. You can buy toner that is compatible with Hewlett-Packard (HP), Epson, Canon, Brother, Apple, and Xerox printers at a fraction of the price.

Atari 2600 – Activision – HERO
Cartridges Laser

H.E.R.O. is a computer and video game published by Activision in 1984. It was developed for the Atari 2600 and later ported to the Apple II, Atari 5200, Atari 8-bit family, ColecoVision, Commodore 64, MSX, SEGA SG-1000 and ZX Spectrum. A remake has been written in 2005 for the Z80 computer Amstrad CPC (see below).

H.E.R.O., supposedly meaning "Helicopter Equipped Rescue Operation" (or "Helicopter Emergency Rescue Operation", "Human Extraction and Rescue Operation"), is a platform-style action game, set in a system of underground mines.

The player’s character (known as Roderick Hero according to the game inlay) in H.E.R.O. is a rescue worker with a small helicopter-type backpack, enabling him to fly around the underground mine shafts and caverns. For defense, the character is equipped with a laser beam and a finite supply of sticks of dynamite.

The object of each level is to rescue a trapped mine worker at the extreme end of the mine shaft within a time limit. Dangers along the way include various cave-dwelling animals (such as bats, snakes, spiders and even butterflies) and on later levels, some kind of red ore (magma, on the 8-bit systems) which is lethal to the touch, and water at the bottom of the shaft (where appears a tentacle from an unknown animal) .

The game graphics and mechanics are substantially the same in all versions, with graphic improvements in the subsequent ports made after the 2600 version. The Atari 5200 version offers a different gameplay, given the lack of self-centering on the system joystick. The SG-1000 version is different from all others, because the game was reprogrammed by SEGA. Although the level mapping is the same, Roderick uses a Jetpack instead of the helicopter-type backpack. The game graphics were also all redrawn.

Remanufactured Laser Toner Cartridges Are Part Of The Pollution Solution

April 17th, 2010 Comments off

Laser toner cartridges can be expensive.  If you are tired of paying the price for new ones, consider purchasing a remanufactured version.

When you have an empty cartridge, do you throw it away or do you ship it back to the company for recycling?  A number of companies include a postage paid box for shipping the cartridge to be recycled.

Instead of breaking down the plastic and reusing it in some other product, as is done with most recycled plastics, the cartridge can be cleaned and refilled.  That’s what remanufacturing companies do.

The cartridge is checked for breakage or other kinds of damage that might cause leaking.  It is tested to be sure that it works correctly.  Then, it is put in new packaging and sold to a consumer at a considerably lower price than the all new versions.

In order to make a new cartridge, a company needs new plastic.  The plastics are created using petrochemicals, which are derived from petroleum or crude oil.  Knowing that our sources of oil are unlimited and it is still the primary fuel source used in many countries, cutting back on the petrochemical products that we use every day makes sense.

So, remanufactured laser toner cartridges are an environmentally friendly alternative, as well as being a cost-effective one.  If you own a small business or work in an office that runs through these items on a regular basis, you could really reduce your costs by buying remanufactured.

You can buy a remanufactured cartridge to fit HP, Elite, Lexmark or IBM models.  Brother, Panasonic, Canon and other name-brands are also available in remanufactured inkjet cartridges, laser toner cartridges and other products as well.

You can also order a remanufactured cartridge for the printer in your home or office.  If you give them a try, you may be surprised at how good the quality is.  You may end up wondering why you would ever pay more for an original equipment item.

Remanufactured ink jet and laser toner cartridges are becoming increasingly popular.  That’s a good thing for the environment and for the pocketbook.  As more people are buying them, the remanufacturers are able to lower their prices even more.

The more we are able to use recycled materials in our homes and offices, the less trash there will be in our landfills.  If you think that we are not running out of space, then why do we have to keep building more of them?

Remanufactured laser toner cartridges are certainly not the only solution, but they are definitely a part of it.

Kate Roberts being very close to eco friendlyness and also try to save the environment by using various eco friendly products. Kate Roberts has a computer background and also like to learn more on hardware and other computer related products that can be eco friendly. She came across remanufactured ink cartridges that are eco friendly inkjet cartridges as they are recycled which helps in saving the environment and also reduces the electronic dump. Her father being an computer hardware engineer which builds interest in her for computers. At http://www.eco-inkjets.com she finds many branded eco friendly products.

Must Know Facts About Toner Cartridges

February 26th, 2010 Comments off

Nowadays virtually, every kind of printer from laser printers to inkjet printers is incredibly inexpensive. Fortunately, the toner cartridges that replace the starter cartridges the come with the printer provide a cost-effective solution. There are great deals online if you are in the market for an inkjet printer cartridge or a laser jet toner cartridge. Laser printer toner called as ‘laser printer toner cartridge’ is a dry powder that is electrically charged during the process to transfer onto the paper to complete the printing procedure. Generally, this toner comes in a cartridge inserted in the printer. This single cartridge can be used for printing multiple pages. Replacing or refilling the empty cartridge is an easy process. Replacing a cartridge offers two advantages: portability and speed.

Toner is used in photocopiers and laser printers to structure the images and text on available printed-paper. Previously it was made of carbon powder. Then carbon was combined with polymer to develop the excellence of the printout. The heat of the fuser result melts toner cartridges elements to attach to the paper. The exact polymer used could be a Styrene Acryl ate Copolymer or a Polyester Resin, but it differs accordingly with the producer. Toner cartridges formulations vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and even from one machine to another machine. These formulae differ from each other in the grain size and melt point. To get a best print, some toner companies use a chemical process to grow toner particles. This results in size in more and more consistent shapes of cartridges particles. This lesser uniform shapes allow more accurate color reproduction and well-organized toner use.

Laser printer toners are classified into four categories in the market. First comes the toner cartridges processed by manufacturer under their brand name. These are called OEM, Original Equipment Manufacturer for example, Epson OEM, Canon OEM, HP OEM, and Brother OEM. Compatible or Generic toner cartridges are the second type which are produced to excel or equal the OEM cartridges. They are less expensive than OEM cartridges. The third one comprises the Remanufactured or Refurbished toner cartridge, which are recycled from the OEMs. Finally, the last type is the Refill Kits that is the most economical method to replace the toner cartridge.

Using toner cartridges against the laser cartridges is beneficiary. The laser printer toners are able to print thousands of pages, and are less expensive per page compared to inkjet cartridges. The printing speed is faster than inkjet cartridges while they almost work on every type of paper. In due course, they prove to be much economical if a lot of printing work is involved. A compatible cartridge benefits you with cost savings and at times massive savings up to 50%. It all depends upon your requirements to utilize these toner cartridges to enhance your printing.

?inkjet Or Laser Printer ? Which Is The Best For You?

August 15th, 2009 Comments off

Almost as universal as the dilemma of whether to buy a house or rent, and with an equal number of factors for and against each decision, is the decision between buying an inkjet and laser printer! Each type of printer has its own ups, its own downs, its varying capital and ongoing costs for ink cartridges, laser toner, etc. However, they are not the same by any measure … there is certainly a ‘best’ type of printer for you, according to your printing habits. We help you find it!

How much printing do you do?

One of the simplest ways to understand the difference between inkjet and laser printers is in terms of initial cost versus ongoing cost … though remember that there are plenty more things to consider before you’ll be able to properly determine which one will be ‘best’ for you in the long run. Laser printers have a high ongoing cost and a lower cost-per-page – laser toner goes further per page. Inkjet printers have a lower initial cost and a higher cost per page – inkjet cartridges don’t print as many pages before emptying. Obviously, if you do a lot of printing, the laser printer will quickly repay your initial investment in terms of lower per-page pricing.

For example, an inkjet printer costs around at entry level, with a corresponding cost per page of around 16c. A laser printer costs around 0 at entry level, with a corresponding cost per page of around 2c.

If you do a lot of printing,, the other factor to consider is that inkjet printers move much more slowly than laser printers – you’ll be waiting for a while for your print jobs to come out.

What type of documents or graphics do you print?

If you mostly print:

* Many pages of black and white text: A laser printer will suit you best – but remember that if you want to print in colour at any stage, laser printers that can handle the function are inordinately expensive. You may want a cheap inkjet as well as the laser, for the occasional colour page.
* Digital photos: Inkjets are best able to reproduce photographs realistically – colour laser printers are usually out of range of the home user, and inkjet cartridges can spit out some pretty photorealistic images!
* A range of documents from a small office: Offices are best served with a multifunction inkjet printer, with copier, scanner and fax – but cheapies are to be avoided.

What media do you need to print on?

If you need to print on the fronts of DVDs and CDs, inkjets are usually your only option. However you could consider buying a personal laser printer to keep up with black and white printing, as well as an inkjet that only prints DVDs and CDs.

Questions to ask about both inkjet and laser printers

No matter which sort of printer you decide is best for you, there are several questions you should ask the retailer before you buy:

* How many pages will a laser toner or inkjet cartridge print for me?
* How much does a laser toner or inkjet cartridge cost?
* What paper size can it handle?
* How long is the warranty?
* How many dots per inch does it print? (This gives you an idea of how detailed your photos and images will come out)
* How many pages per minute does it print?
* How does it interface with my computer?

All of these questions, along with the information from your usage above, should give you a pretty good idea of which type of printer will be best for you. Of course, the range of inkjets and lasers varies considerably for different applications … but that’s a question for another day!

Cartridgemate.com.au offers a wide range of inkjet printer cartridges and laser toner supplies at seriously discounted prices. You can save up to 70% on inflated retail shop prices. For more information or to view our products, visit Ink Cartridges

Inkjet Cartridges, Laser Toner Cartridges: How to start an Online Business from Home Part 2

May 27th, 2009 Comments off

So now you’ve got your business and domain name registered what’s next?

1. What are you going to sell ? – There are suppliers in Australia you can buy ink cartridges, toner cartridges, fax rolls, speciality papers, stationery etc from. Some of these suppliers sell original, some sell non original and some sell both so the first thing you need to decide on is ‘am I going to sell both original and non original products ?’. Then get in touch with your prospective suppliers and if possible go out and see their premises so you see for yourself their quality control processes etc.

To give you an idea of what one person can handle in terms of choosing your product range, I currently have approx 3000 products in total and that’s about maxed out for me time wise. This figure includes both original and non original items. Keep in mind that every time you add more products from a new supplier or from an existing supplier that means another pricelist you have to update monthly or however often they send their updates.

I would suggest you start with one or two suppliers and fairly small product range until you get the feel for your new business and are able to see whether you can handle more suppliers and the larger product range they will bring. There’s another good reason for this, you’re going to need to spend a LOT of your time promoting your business online so bottom line is you’re better off spending 80% of your time working ON your business with a modest number of products than spending 80% of your time working IN your business because you have thousands of items on your site.

2. Direct shipping & Tracking orders – This is pretty important so pay attention :) , all my suppliers have a facility available to directly ship goods to my customers for me meaning I don’t actually hold any stock whatsoever. Running my business this way means I hold no stock and therefore don’t have to employ anyone to run a warehouse.
There is a downside though, the big one is that if you do direct shipment this means your supplier immediately has access to your customers details so be careful which suppliers you pick as some of them also retail as well as wholesale so if you need to decide whether you trust them to not try and steal your customers from you. To be honest I haven’t found any suppliers yet who do wholesale and retail that I’ve had any cause to be concerned about but you do need to be aware of this.

When it comes to tracking orders you need to make sure that your supplier has an efficient system in place for tracking the inevitable orders that go missing in action from time to time. Id also suggest that you actually find out which courier companies they use as you will find ,as I have, that they are very definitely not all the same. Some suppliers use more than one and will allow you to choose the one you’d prefer if you don’t like the others they have on their books.

3. Supplier pricelists – You will need to ask them to send you their regular pricelist so you can keep your database up to date, if their pricelist isn’t in a spreadsheet its going to be much harder for you to do your updates so push them a little and they may just arrange to send you as a spreadsheet so that you can manipulate the data more easily.
If you can you want to use suppliers who send out their pricelist with the items that have changed since the last update somehow marked so that you can quickly see what has changed without having to go through the whole list. If you are starting out chances are you’re a one man band like me or perhaps two man band and this saves a lot of time.

4. Supplier Codes & OEM Codes – I’m going to discuss this more fully at a later stage in this series but I will briefly discuss something you should be aware of now. Basically every cartridge, fax roll etc you sell whether its an original or non-original will have two codes associated to it being an OEM code and a supplier code and usually they wont be the same. The OEM code is the original manufacturers code recognised and used in the industry by everyone. So for example if you’re selling a Canon BCI-24 ink cartridge the OEM code ‘BCI-24′ will be used by all everyone so we have a universal standard. Usually a supplier will have a different code (the supplier code) they use to track the item in their warehouse.

Now that you know basically how the codes work I’ve got some bad news for you. You will find that many of the non original suppliers don’t have very good compatibility lists of which OEM codes are compatible with the thousands of different printers out there so be careful ! Of course they have to abide by what their pricelist tells you but I prefer to get it right in the first place so I don’t have returns from my customer when they find that their cartridge doesn’t fit into their printer.

My best advice for you here is to find one suppliers compatibility charts you trust and use that as a foundation to build on. This is what I do and from there the only other sources I trust are the actual manufacturers themselves such as HP, Canon etc etc. After all if these guys don’t know which machines their cartridges fit into we’re in real trouble. Unfortunately not all the manufacturers websites have compatibility lists available and when you ring them seem to want to keep it all a big secret.

When you setup your website later on you can do as Ive done and allow customers to find their cartridges by code or the machine model or you can always just play it safe and get the machine model of the client and match that to the correct consumables.

Well that’s about it for now, good luck on finding your supplies and stay tuned for the next part in the series when we tackle setting up your pricelists and/or databases.

Differences / Similarities Between Ink Cartridges, Laser Toner Cartridges & Printer Ribbons

March 20th, 2009 Comments off

Ink cartridges, laser toner cartridges, or printer ribbons; are all an integral components of printers systems, without which all printers are practically useless. These are the components through which the end product of printing is visible to us. These components contain the ink, which spreads on the paper during the process of printing. The market is replete with a wide variety of cartridges manufactured by different manufacturers and that can be used in different types of printers.

The Concept of Similarities and Dissimilarities

When you talk about cartridge’s one must understand that there are quite a number of similarities between the composition, structure, and usage of the three cartridges. After all the basic concepts between the designs remains similar and only a few minor changes distinguish them from each other. However, one must also understand the fact that there similarities does not mean that they use can be interchanged. Ink cartridges can only be used in ink jet printers.

The Similarities

Typically there are two separate cartridges that are inserted into the printers, one is a colored cartridge filled with the three primary colors while the other is a black cartridge. In laser toner cartridges there is no ink but there is a toner which is a material that facilitates laser printings. However, the coloring parameters remain the same.

Both ink cartridges and the laser variety can be refilled and thus users can save money on the cost of buying a whole new cartridge. Even printer ribbons can be refilled; however, the process of refilling will differ.

Differences

Apart from the technical differences associated with the three cartridges, and the process of printing in general, there are differences related to the quality of the print, cost, and speed of printing. When it comes to printing speed printer ribbons are the slowest of the lot while cartridges using laser toners are the fastest. Moreover, with regards to cost, the cartridges for laser printers are more expensive than their ink based counterparts. This is because the cartridges for laser printers offer the best printing output and are faster than the other cartridges. One can take out a large number of print outs of the same superior quality unlike in ink cartridges wherein the results start getting blurry quite quickly on account of the ink running out.

None is better than the Other

If you look at the similarities and differences, you will see that you cannot judge the cartridges based on them. You cannot say that one is better than the other, as it’s completely your choice as to which printer you own and thus the cartridges that you are going to use. Experts will tell you that laser toner cartridges are the best amongst the three, but for that you must have laser printers, which in itself is expensive and so are its cartridges.
